Let the children come to me and do not stop them!
by Evidently Apostate indid the christ have a different line of thought other than using them as an example of teachableness and meekness?
i often wonder how he would feel about his people using the young as examples of integrity putting great responsibility on them coaching them to set up thier own magazine route.
instead of enjoying association participating in school sports where valuable charicter traits are learned such as sportsmanship, assertion, generosity, and trust the "spiritual youth" will devote his energies to the studying of doctrines that bless the slaughter of billions, that only by living a life of slavery to a leadership that forgoes compassion, tolerance, and forgivness will they not be put to death.

Would jesus approve of sending our young adults out into the world without the right tools needed to start a well adjusted life? for example the society has volumes of rules and procedures for the young witness, but what information is there for the teenager that persues his own course without watchtower rules? the truth is the black and white us against them mentality is destructive because as parents if we cannot prevent our own children from refusing a life of servitude to the org than we are encouraged to punish and withdraw from them. the result is some teens rebel and because we have not given them a chance to experience a normal life they race headlong into self abuse through drugs, alchohol, and promiscuity. we in effect are told to wait on the sidelines to see if our children will come back to us under conditions that have been established by a publishing co. the saddest part of the equation is the young person has experienced so much damage some of which is irreversable that they see the congregation as the only way to recover and WE AS PARENTS have ingrained that line of thinking into them. i know this is not always the case but it seems to be a mental cycle that is repeated over and over. does our lord approve of this type of mental training? consider some alternative ways of raising a child.
TOLERANCE the thought of accepting the teen for who they are and allowing them the freedom to dye thier hair or grow it out, wear ridiculous clothes, experience dating WITHOUT the view of marriage, look at thier peers as equals, allow them to growup without the burden of being no part of the world. to enjoy holidays and birthdays as they are intentioned, as times of joy and friendship.
ACCEPTANCE no matter what our children become they never become someone elses child. always love and respect them regardless if they are straight or gay, join the military, join a church of a different faith whatever.
LOVE anytime someone tries to stress or even separate your love for your child or change the way you look at or treat family , remove that evil force from your presence. it is never okay to allow anything to break family ties.
Just something that has been on my mind

i recently lost an uncle who was a marine during vietnam. he was a helicopter pilot and mechanic who upon returning to the U.S. began a career in avionics and worked for the same company building helicopters until his death this summer. i remember him as a gentle man who possessed an infectius smile, someone who truly lived a life without complaints. he raised a child and remained faithfull to the same woman even though she was not.he enjoyed friends all over the country and the few times we spent together i always left feeling closer to him. the ceremony was held a presbyterian church and part of the service several of his friends/co workers spoke about the way he carried himself and the type of crew chief he was. outside the church as 2 marines were folding the flag that was draped over his coffin, a sikorsky helicopter flew over him and hovered for about 2 minutes and pulled its landing gear up and down twice, the whole experience was quite overwhelming and i think i can just begin to understand the bond of those who serve and the respect given.
god bless you John

Suggest a coffee maker, please
by cameo-d ini can expect my coffee pots to malfunction usually about the time the year warranty runs out.
i have gotton the coffeemakers at jip*lmart for the last 10 years or more; none have lasted much longer than a year..ok maybe 18 months at the most.. anyway, since it stopped brewing, i have just been pouring hot water from stovetop over the coffee grinds....sort of the melita way, but it doesn't exactly f l o w like a melita.. i would like to have something non-electric like melita, but i hate that name now because it reminds me of jacarass's ill tempered wife.. can anyone recommend a good coffee maker?.
also, do you find any difference in the quality of a name brand product when it's sold at jip*mart as opposed to a place more upscale?.

the study conductor reafirmed his point and then continued.. wait a fuggin minute!

jackcar, you seem to have the same black white mentality the org demands from its adherants. many posters here stay in the org for family which is my case. i olny attend sporadically as i have a long term plan to release my wife from her mental captivity.
think about it, no the talk yesterday was another apocalyptic live like jah is coming tommorow poopfest where the speaker likened financial security as wrong and a lure for loosed conduct, i find it all sickening i just had never heard that comment made before. it cleanly absolves the GB from printing a reasonable explaination for the lack of coverage in the ministry.
boyzone, that my friend is the answer, you are not the weakest link.
podobear, i stand corrected, i thought nigeria was mainly muslim but it actually is 48% christian
